things change...
I admit it. I don't like change. I'm not quite sure why...maybe it's the fear of the unknown. With a heavy heart my husband and I have decided to put our home on the market. I was a bit younger when we bought it and had a toddler who is now 9 and a kindergartner who is now 12 at the time. I remember the day we walked through the front door for the very first time. It needed work, LOTS of work but that didn't scare me. What I saw was potential. At the time we were living in a tiny little cape which seemed to be bursting at the seams with all our things. Our family was growing and so were our needs. I walked through these doors with optimism and a dream and I jumped right in with both feet. We turned this house into a home room by room. Like I said, things change. Needs change. The home I often referred to as "my dream house that needs a little work" now tires me. I have hammered, nailed, painted, fixed, plumbed and redone every single room with the help of my husband and my own 2 hands.I'm not done yet, there is still more work left but this time, by someone else. I am sad to be leaving but for once in my life I am welcoming the change. Things change, needs change. I just hope some wide eyed young Mom walks through my front door and sees what I saw years ago..I hope she sees potential and has a dream.

Oh Noellie...I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been for you and your hubby to make the decision to list your home! But you're so right about how life and needs change! I wish you all the best during this big change....but I know you find another great place to call home.
You got me with the last line in your post though...about another wide eyed young Mom walking through your front door...now I'm all puddled up!
Hugs,
Joycee
I read your post with a heavy heart. These times need change. Many many blessings to you with this decision.
I'm sorry, Noelle... it must be a bittersweet time for you. I've lived in the same house for 24 years, and know a part of my heart will stay behind too, when it's time to go. I hope the anticipation of looking ahead makes it easier each day, as you find a new door to your new home.
Blessings and hugs,
Brenda
My dear sweet Noelle...Change is good for the heart and the soul. As you welcomed your new home it welcomed you. It saw you through many happy times as well as sad. As you become over whelmed and tired so does your home. The energies of our day to day life lives in our surroundings just as it does in the people we hold dear. Your house will welcome the change and its new family as much as you will welcome what lies ahead for you. You and yours will create energies and memories. Be excited! Change is what keeps us young! Blessings to you Noelle!...Pam
P.S. I would like to pay for the shipping on the patterns so let me know the cost...thanks!
I just found your blog, Noelle!
I understand exactly what you mean about leaving the house behind with work still to be done. I left my charming 20's Craftsman house (that needed new windows) for this 1980's garrison with little charm. It was so hard to leave behind the dream of my last house and what I wanted to accomplish. But life changes our goals and directions.
Today we are cleaning out our cellar so it can be usable again.
Will be thinking of you as you make this change. There's a quote I like - "Change always comes bearing gifts." And it's true, even if the change seems like an overall negative one, there are good things that come with it.
